Youth on Mission

The Youth Group of Main Street Baptist Church is an active and vibrant group of teens. Youth Group is open to teens in grades 7-12. Parent volunteers lead this group along with many other willing hands when needed. Leaders are aware of the issues that face this special age group daily at home, school and with peers and work with them to cultivate making good decisions. Through bible study, mission projects, and fun outings, this group learns the word of God and how he can help them through anything as long as they trust and believe in him.

Our Youth Group attends PassPort Camp each summer. These mission trips have taken them to several different states and environments. The teens, along with chaperones, usually go for a week and stay in a church or a college dormitory. Past summer mission trip activities have included the building or remodeling of homes and churches, holding Vacation Bible Schools and landscaping. They also attend daily Bible Study and nightly worship service during the week. Fun activities are also arranged for the group. Upon returning home, the Youth Group conducts a Sunday worship service where they share their experiences. They come back with a renewed spirit and it shows!

The Youth Group undertakes many fundraising projects during the year to off-set the cost of camp and other activities. A major fundraising project is the cooking and selling of pork BBQ. Orders are taken before hand and then delivered to many satisfied customers.

Our Youth Group also does lots of fun things such as taking snow skiing trips, bowling, going to Camp Willow Run at Lake Gaston and having an annual Christmas and Super Bowl Party. The Main Street Baptist Youth Group invites you to join them in their time of fellowship and worship with each other and in their study of God’s word.
